When you’re looking for a celebrant for an important occasion, finding the right person is vital. Please contact me for a complimentary, no-obligation chat to discuss your requirements.

A celebrant can provide an inspirational alternative for those wanting a non-traditional service for any occasion. In today’s more secular and less religious society, for many people using a celebrant to mark important milestones is growing as a preferred choice.

Historically, the only options for services of celebration have been to have it conducted by a minister of religion or by a humanist – therefore, atheist – celebrant. In a world that is always evolving, people are choosing more and more to celebrate in their own way.

Traditional, religious ceremonies will always have their place and for some the celebrant led approach may still seem a fairly new concept, but there is an increasing awareness that choosing to celebrate a wide variety of contemporary life events in a secular manner allows the occasion to become more personal, more meaningful and distinctive.

cer·e·mo·ny : serə mōnē

A formal occasion, typically one celebrating a particular event.

Client Comments

  • I just thought I would take a few moments to write and pass on our family thanks for the service you conducted for Mum. I was so nervous prior to the event never having been party to a secular service before. I had concerns there might be criticism from some that attended on the choice of service. However my concerns were ill founded – there was nothing but praise from all, about the construction and tone of the service. The comments included “brilliant”, “beautiful”, “spot on!”
Your service reflected Mum’s character to a tee and was pitched beautifully. A number of those who attended, stated it is what they would want for their own service and would be keeping Mum’s order of service in “a special place” for when their time came. There she goes, carrying on gently influencing lives even though she is no longer here.

  • Thanks for all the work that you put into this one - it's probably a good job that you like a challenge! Anyone with less experience than you may have buckled under the pressure. Please be assured that all of our funerals AREN'T as challenging as this one – it will be nice to work with you again in the not too distant future. Thanks again for your help and support.

  • Thank you for the lovely service. A lot of people said you were brilliant and the wording was beautiful. The service was beautiful.

  • Words cannot express how grateful I am to have found you. Your memorial service for my Dad was perfect. You have brought a sense of closure for all of us – just as my Dad deserved. We also feel like we’ve gained a friend – which was unexpected and a welcome bonus.

  • You followed L’s wishes to the letter - your incredible orchestration of the event was just wonderful! Everyone said how well it 'flowed'. You have a gift lady and you used it to the full to get us there safely and for us all to go in sad and come out smiling. Still smiling now so I know L is happy. Thank you!

  • It was an absolute pleasure to meet you. You came to help us like a breath of fresh air and we really appreciate all the thought and hard work you put in to preparing and conducting Dad's service. Everyone commented on how beautiful it was. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

  • Thank you for the service transcript which I have just read. Not a dry eye in the house. (Well - OK - Sam the dog and the two cats don't seem too bothered!) It was lovely to read it again - so many nice things said about Mum. Thank you once again for taking the time to get to know Mum without meeting her.

  • Thank you for restoring some dignity and humanity to my Dad. It meant a lot for, as you will be aware, his illness took some of that away from him. It was a privilege to meet you. Thanks again for all the effort you put into this.

  • Many many thanks for mum's beautiful service, we had so many compliments about it. Thank you too for all your support and reassurance while putting it together - we could not have done it without you.

  • I just wanted to email you to say a very big 'thank you' for such a lovely service today. We all appreciated the care and time you took to put it all together, and I appreciated the support you gave to me too. Although we were sad, it truly was a celebration of Mum's long life - just as it should be.

  • Many many thanks for mum's beautiful service, we had so many compliments about it. Thank you too for all your support and reassurance while putting it together - we could not have done it without you. Thanks also for putting together Mum's service transcript so beautifully. It did not make me sad - in fact I felt quite peaceful reading through it again and know she would have loved it and felt we had done her proud. I love everything about it: the card, the beautiful paper and also the pot of rosemary. Just lovely!

  • Thank you for helping us deliver an amazing service of celebration. Your very professional role was a central part in the process - taking it all in and making sense of it - funeral by committee! Your eulogy was masterly and extremely well composed - no mean feat given the info thrown at you! Thank you for all your dedicated work and patience. I will happily recommend you to others.

  • Thank you so very much for your wonderful service this morning. Mum would have been very, very happy with how it went, it was just how she described to me the way she wanted it to be. Everybody came away content that Mum had the send off she wished for. Many thanks!

  • Rosemarie was very kind, considerate, understanding, efficient and extremely helpful during this sad time for our family. Everything was perfect on the day.

  • I just wanted to say thank you for conducting M's service. I've been contacted by many people who were full of praise for the event, calling it "beautiful" and "what M would have wanted". One of M's friends, who couldn't attend the funeral, emailed me to say that the word-of-mouth she'd heard about the service was excellent.

  • Thank you very much for the lovely service for Dad. Everyone commented how good the balance was between tribute and celebration of life, and how good it was to focus on the positive following a full life. Mum was very pleased and relieved as she was dreading it.

  • I just wanted to say thank you for today. It was lovely. I think it went well, and the turnout was good. Thank you for being the celebrant. I know there must have been moments where you felt things were awkward, but you came through and created a eulogy that had many people later asking about both you and the service. You were referred to in nothing but good terms, and equally I reinforced that by saying how good you had been in making everything come out right today.

  • Thank you so much for yesterday it was a lovely service.

  • Well that was different! Very unusual funeral ...... but most enjoyable! I'm going to tell my family I want something like that.

  • I write on behalf of the whole family to say the service for J was beyond perfect. I can't tell you how many people commented on it and how it was the 'best funeral' they had ever been to! Your service was absolutely spot on and a perfect tribute to J. His grandson said it was perfect and really appropriate for his beloved gramps! Even J’s 87 year old sister (who is very religious) said it was completely fitting for J and she was very proud of the send off we gave him. Thanks again! You have been wonderful to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you!

  • Thank you very much for the lovely service.

  • Once again, many thanks for your kind words, support and perfect tribute during this difficult and emotional time. The eulogy was extremely moving, perfectly written and captured L as we will always remember her. Thank you so much for your kindness Rosemarie ........ you have been fantastic throughout and I can't thank you enough.

  • Just a line to thank you so much for the lovely service book which was unexpectedly beautiful. I was so pleased with Dad’s service. Thank you – I will always remember your kindness.

  • Thank you so much for the lovely service that you conducted for Dad. We are all truly grateful. I am especially grateful for the kindness and support you gave leading up to Dad’s funeral.....everything wouldn't have come together without you. The dedication and commitment you gave was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Thanks to you and one or two others we were able to give Dad the send off he deserved. A few attendees actually thought you were a family friend as they felt you knew us all so well and showed emotion during the service.

  • A quick note to say how much we appreciated your part in yesterdays celebration of our Mum's life. It was a difficult day for both of us and we feel that you helped to make it as good as it could have been under the circumstances.
As there were so many people at the service it meant I did not have time to speak to all of them, but the ones we did manage to spend some time with all mentioned how nice the service was. Thanks again.
